Red Waggin' Rescue is powered by volunteers who help with everything from transport and adoption events to applications and home visits. Find a role that fits your skills, schedule, and interests.

Ways to volunteer

There are many ways to help, depending on your interests, skills, and availability. Here are some of the ways volunteers may contribute.

Transport driver

Help get pets where they need to go, including veterinary appointments, foster placements, and adoption meetings.

Adoption event crew

Help with adoption events by welcoming visitors, handling leashes, and supporting the rescue team.

Photographer / videographer

Help capture photos and videos of foster pets to showcase their personalities and help them find homes.

Application reviewer

Help review adoption applications and provide thoughtful feedback to the placement team.

Home visit volunteer

Meet with potential adopters and help the team make sure a home is a good fit for their new pet.

Supply runner & fundraising

Help with supplies, donation drives, and fundraising efforts throughout the year.

Onboarding is short on purpose

Apply, join a 45-minute orientation call, complete a background check for roles that handle animals or applicant data, and get added to the volunteer schedule. Most people are active within two weeks.

Our rescue is powered by volunteers who help in many different ways. You don't need prior rescue experience or to know exactly how you'd like to help. Tell us about your skills, interests, and availability, and we'll help find a role that's a good fit.

Because we are a small, volunteer-run rescue, please allow 7-10 business days for our team to review your application and contact you.

Submitting an application does not guarantee a specific volunteer role or opportunity. Volunteers must be 18+ (16+ with a guardian at events).
